Goals

This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect.

FTDNA Buescher Surname Project (and related Hanebaum, Hannebaum, Wilkemeyer surnames)

I have started a new FTDNA surname project specifically for Buescher to collect, compare, study, and share the Y-DNA results of men with the surname Buescher. I invite all Buescher men to join if they have tested their Y-DNA, or to test if they have not yet tested.

As an additional goal, I am also hoping to find Hanebaum/Hannebaum and Wilkemeyer men to join, as I have recently learned that many Buescher descendants are genetically in those patrilineal lines, due to the adoption of the Büscher/Buescher surname by their German ancestor for various reasons.

Membership is absolutely free to all FTDNA Y-DNA testers with the Buescher, Hannebaum/Hannebaum, and Wilkemeyer surname (or if you believe your German ancestor adopted the Büscher/Buescher surname).
